WF Bujumbura

World Faith Bujumbura began in 2004 as a forum of interfaith organizations operating with the goal of promoting peacebuilding and development within their communities. They have focused their work on youth and community development projects, encouraging peace building, promoting health education, and running schools for children. Specifically, they have started a clean water program, encouraged the growth of microfinance, run an orphanage, a primary school, a professional school, and health clinics, and support 100 HIV/+ women.

The work at World Faith Bujumbura is headed by Bishop Telesphore Ntashimikiro and is supported by two doctors, nurses, bankers, community health workers, and diverse faith leaders. Additional support for the implementation of projects comes from their youth volunteers.

About the Director

Telesphore Ntashimikiro

Bishop Telesphore Ntashimikiro created and is the director of Burundi Parables Christian Ministries (BPCM). As a native to Burundi, Telesphore has seen the intense ethnic and political conflicts that have affected his country and wanted to help make lasting change through peacebuilding and community development. The Parables program began in 2004 and is an accredited organization within Burundi helping to do just that. Telesphore created Parables in the hopes of bringing together youth of different beliefs and ethnic groups to bring an end to the conflict that existed and prevent any others from occuring. In his capacity as director he teaches and prepares trainees and volunteers at BPCM who, after training, continue to do their work in communities across Burundi. Telesphore holds a Bachelor in Ethics and a Diploma in Community Development.
