India: Education and Relief- Children and Families Finding Hope in Delhi
In Delhi, where rapid urban change often leaves the most vulnerable behind, World Faith Delhi is providing education, nutrition, and dignity to children and families living in homeless settlements.
At the heart of this work is the Rainbow School, which currently serves 150 children. Here, young learners not only receive daily lessons but also one nutritious meal a day—an essential lifeline for families facing hunger and displacement. For these children, the classroom is more than a place of learning: it is a safe haven of stability and hope.
At the same time, World Faith Delhi has been responding to urgent crises facing the community. In recent months, the City Council demolished 10 slums, displacing hundreds of families. The team mobilized quickly, delivering cooked food, dry rations, clothing, and utensils to those left without shelter. This rapid response underscores a deep commitment to meeting immediate needs with compassion and care.
Another pressing challenge has been Delhi’s record-breaking heatwaves. To protect vulnerable populations, World Faith Delhi launched a Heatwave Relief Campaign—installing water stations at bus stops in four locations, hosting health camps, and raising awareness about how to stay safe in extreme temperatures. Together, these efforts provide both urgent relief and longer-term strategies for resilience.
This work is a reminder that education and relief are deeply connected—and that protecting children’s futures means addressing both the classroom and the crises around it. By sustaining the Rainbow School and responding to displacement and climate extremes, World Faith Delhi is helping families not just survive, but also find hope for the future.
