Pakistan: POWER in Action - Minority Women Entrepreneurs Transform Their Communities
In communities across Pakistan, a new wave of women leaders is emerging- bold, creative, and ready to rewrite what’s possible.
The Minority Women Business Incubation Program (POWER Project), supported by Hungary Helps and implemented by the Youth Development Foundation (YDF), is empowering minority women through entrepreneurship, financial literacy, and leadership development.
After just one year, the program has already made a remarkable impact.
Empowering Through Skill and Action
Seventy minority women have completed intensive training in entrepreneurship, marketing, and leadership. Each participant received a tailored business startup kit, designed to fit her specific business model—whether in tailoring, catering, handicrafts, beauty services, or digital-based work.
The result? Dozens of thriving small enterprises that are generating income, fostering independence, and supporting families. Over 350 people have benefited indirectly through employment, mentorship, and improved household income.
Building Confidence and Leadership
For many participants, the transformation goes far beyond financial gain. Women who once hesitated to speak in public or manage finances now negotiate in local markets, handle accounts, and make key decisions independently. Several graduates have even stepped into leadership roles, mentoring other women and helping to build a supportive network of peer trainers.
Challenges and the Road Ahead
The journey isn’t without hurdles. Some participants face social resistance from traditional family structures, while others struggle with limited market access or a lack of seed funding to expand their businesses.
Still, the collective progress is undeniable—and deeply inspiring. Each new enterprise represents not just economic empowerment, but also a statement of courage and hope in communities where women’s leadership is often undervalued.
As the POWER Project continues, World Faith Pakistan and its partners remain committed to sustaining this momentum by amplifying women’s voices, strengthening networks, and unlocking new opportunities for growth.
When women rise, entire communities thrive.
