 Interfaith Youth in Action (IYA) is a local chapter of World Faith in Lahore, Pakistan. IYA serves as a network of diverse youth to promote pluralism and mutual respect for religious diversity. Our purpose is to provide opportunity and safe spaces for the grassroots students and youth of each faith to come together to build understanding and harmony by community service activities and promoting interfaith dialogues through action for Peace in the Pakistan context.
The situation of Pakistan in this respect is not very different form the other parts of the world. Pakistan has a population of around 180 million which includes Muslims, Christians, Hindus, Ahmedis, Sikhs and others. These minorities though enjoy constitutional rights as equal citizens of Pakistan; but practically they face discrimination and violence. We are providing safe spaces, opportunities and platforms to interfaith youth to interact and dialogues through community service and different activates to promote pluralism, mutual understanding, building relationship and coexistence to build culture of peace and tolerance.
