World Faith India

A campaign for the Rights of the Homeless

World Faith India is an expanding network of World Faith Chapters across the country.  Founded in New Delhi under the HAQ program, World Faith India has quickly grown, with a Chapter in Ahmadabad and soon in Mumbai.  This work is vital in India, both because of the endless service opportunities, and because the religious diversity of India has led to mass violence based on religious identities.

World Faith New Delhi

World Faith New Delhi is the oldest World Faith Chapter in India, founded in January 2009.  It is also the Headquarters of World Faith India.

Rainbow School

World Faith Delhi puts HAQ into Action by:

  • Advocacy
  • Children's Needs
  • Emergency Response
  • Homeless Self-Mobilization
  • Hosting International Volunteers

An Example: World Faith New Delhi recently opened a non-formal education center for children in a rag-picking community, centered in a slum.  The center, called The Rainbow School, currently teaches 40 children with volunteer teachers.  The success of this project has led to the planned opening of several more of these centers 2010.
