Mustafa Abdullah

Mustafa Abdullah

President of Winston-Salem for World Faith

Mustafa Abdullah is a senior double majoring in Philosophy and Religion and minoring in Middle Eastern/South Asian Studies at Wake Forest University in North Carolina. Born in Cairo, Egypt, to an Egyptian father and American mother, Mustafa has lived mainly in Egypt and the U.S. Northeast.  At WFU Mustafa is the Founder and President of the Muslim Students Association as well as the Muslim representative to the Interfaith Council. In addition, Mustafa is the founder and president of Winston-Salem for World Faith, a multi-faith organization made up of individuals around the city who use community service as a vehicle for demonstrating how religion can promote the common good.  This past summer, Mustafa was a full-time intern for CHANGE (Communities Helping All Neighbors Gain Empowerment).  Mustafa lives in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. 



Kimberly Applewhite

Kimberly Applewhite 

President of the World Faith New York University

Kimberly Applewhite, a North Carolina native, was raised as a Latter-day Saint (Mormon).  Her experiences growing up helped fuel her desire to bring more unity across religious divides.  She is currently a Senior at New York University, majoring in Psychology and Minoring in Social/Cultural Analysis, Child and Adolescent Mental Health Studies, and American Sign Language.  In addition to serving as president of World Faith NYU, she is also the president of the Latter-day Saint Student Association, and is a member of the Christian Interfellowship Council.  She be getting married in April 2010.



Naseem Shaikh

Naseem Shaikh

President of the World Faith Gujarat

Naseem is a survivor of the 2002 Riots that ended in a mass communal violence in Gujarat.  She lost her parents, husband, and a total of 27 members of her extended family.  However, she chose to refrain from engaging in the otherism that defines Muslim-Hindu relations in Gujarat.  Soon after the Riots, Naseem mobilized to work in peace building and humanitarian work in her community.  She decided to join World Faith by starting a Chapter in late 2009.
